Position: Maintenance Electrician

Shift: Mornings, Afternoons, Nights

Salary: £32,000 / £35,000 Depending on Experience

Benefits: Pension, 25+8days holiday, Overtime

Duties of a Maintenance Electrician:

  • To maintain all plant, equipment and facilities, supporting production with repairs in the event of breakdown and any installation work, also to support all continuous improvement work as required throughout the facility.
  • Responsible for completing planned maintenance schedules, ensuring all machines are handed back to production, safe and fit for purpose, complete relevant paperwork and report and rectify any faults found over and above the schedule.
  • Responsible for the inspection, fault finding and rectification of problems to equipment and hand back the equipment safe and fit for purpose, complete relevant paperwork and inform production and management of any impending failure to the plant ensuring that equipment is safe at all times.
  • To carry out electrical and mechanical isolations for employee’s safety and follow current regulations and guidelines applicable to the position.
  • Work with departments to plan and prioritise work.
  • Manage the CMM system
  • Implement continuous improvement plans and projects.
  • Ensure good housekeeping.
  • Generate reports as and when required for the Operations Manager.
  • Assist in ensuring the plant is a safe and healthy place to work by carrying out the actions of the HSE Committee and workplace inspections as directed by the Operations Manager.

This position is 39 hours - Shift pattern:

Earlies 06:00 – 14:00 Mon-Thurs 06:00 – 11:30 Fri

Late’s 14:00 – 22:00 Mon-Thurs, 11:30 – 17:00 Fri

Nights 22:00 – 06:00 Mon-Thurs, 17:00 – 22:30 Fri

Requirements of a Maintenance Electrician:

  • Ideally the individual will be flexible and open to covering holidays and absences
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, PLC and large plant.

Maintenance Electrician

Shift: Days Only - 8am till 5pm (Call out system in place) Call out is week on week off, Call out is paid at £25 / breakdown plus wages at time and a half

  • Previous experience within a Maintenance Electrician role

  • Experience with: Motors and Drives, Packaging machinery, Hydraulics & Pneumatics, PLC’s Siemens / Allen Bradley - Fault finding abilities and Conveyors.

Requirements for a Maintenance Electrician:

  • Apprentice trained holding a ONC / City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering
  • 17th  / 18th IEE Wiring Regulations
  • Must be flexible due to the call out system in place.

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer - Electrically Biased 70/30 Split

Shift: Perm Nights - 10pm till 6am

A position has become available for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer / Electrically Biased to join a leading organisation based in the Liverpool location.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager you would be expected to assist in the smooth running of the factory ensuring that the business needs and targets are met at all times by providing effective electrical/mechanical maintenance support and adhering to a plant maintenance program.  The candidate would be time served and electrical biased 70/30 split, have an ONC or higher, 17th edition and experience with pneumatics and hydraulics, any experience in the food industry would be an advantage.

Duties:

  • To carry out all physical and visual checks on site machinery as required.
  • Carry out PPM’s issued by the engineering manager.
  • Attend to machine breakdowns and solve/diagnose any mechanical / electrical failures.
  • Carry out repairs, upgrades and installations throughout the factory.
  • Keep downtime to a minimum.
  • To carry out system checks as required.
  • To update spares list and monitor stock levels.
  • Undertake all duties safely and in accordance with the Company Health & Safety policy and Hygiene policy.
  • Provide accurate information and regular progress updates as required by management.
  • Work to the ‘5 S Standards’ and lean manufacturing.
  • Undertake any training as required and ensure working knowledge is kept current.
  • Keep accurate records of all testing, checks, observations as required.
  • Carry out pre-start checks and ensure efficient start-up of production plant.
  • Provide Engineering cover to suit the demands of the business.

Qualifications:

  • Apprentice trained

Job Purpose for a Maintenance Electrician:

To maintain existing preventative maintenance activities and improve the effectiveness of our maintenance department.  Target ZERO breakdowns by end of 2018 as part of the Factory Maintenance Team.  Undertake all maintenance activities in line with the Maintenance plan and ensure processes are followed correctly.  Enhance the team ethic within the maintenance team through Continuous Improvement.

Knowledge Required of a Maintenance Electrician:

  • Undertaken a recognised time served apprenticeship and gained Qualification in Electrical / electronic engineering to Level 3, ONC, HNC, along with a good understanding of Mechanical elements.
  • Experience gained in a manufacturing Environment - Ideally CNC wood-based panel machinery, extraction systems wood chippers and boiler maintenance.
  • Experience of modern control systems, PLCs AC/DC Drives, 3 Phase motors servo systems able to read and interpret electrical drawings and Pneumatics.
  • Some experience of installation projects
