Position: Maintenance Electrician (Installation)

Location: Liverpool

Shift: Days only

Call out system in place: 1 in 5 you will be on call out

Salary: £33,000 - £34,000

Introduction:

We are currently seeking a Maintenance electrician who holds experience within installation, ideally this candidate will hold a City & Guilds 2391 testing & Inspection as well as a City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering. Previous experience within a Textile or Fabric or manufacturing environment.

Ideal Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for the following:

  • Meet production needs in regard to engineering issues and breakdowns. To carry out routine test and inspection on electrical systems and portable electrical equipment.
  • To reduce costs where possible and use the preventative maintenance system to reduce unplanned maintenance. To assist the maintenance manager with projects and developments.
  • To maintain maintenance activities in compliance with ISO 9001: 2000, ISO 14001 and other customer specific standards.
  • Applicants will be working as part of our Group Engineering primarily in Oldham, also in the Rochdale area.
  • Experience of ATEX equipment an advantage
  • Work safely within the company’s Health and Safety Procedures.
  • Work within the requirements and BS 7671 (Electrical Regulations).
  • Improve process efficiencies through elimination of downtime with the use of the PPM system and C.I.P. process
  • Carry out essential legislative testing of electrical equipment and systems.
  • To work with the maintenance manager in the identification of process improvements.
  • To co-operate with the organisation in respect of training needs and job development to meet organisation and production demands.

Electrical Engineer / Maintenance Electrician

Requirements of a Maintenance Electrician:

  • Electrical and mechanical engineers qualifications Machining and Fabrication experience within the industry preferable Fault finding skills essential
  • Excellent Communication skills required
  • Preferably experienced in rotating Plant and equipment
  • To communicate with management and colleagues regarding all issues relating to the business effecting customers Use of manufacturer's technical manuals and diagrams to diagnose repairs and locate faults using a range of testing equipment and tools
  • To carry out work within the workshop to the required Company quality standards and to be held accountable for any rework or warranty issues encountered
  • To communicate with customers regarding collection, ongoing repairs and delivery of jobs both Emergency and Normal Service To carry out work both on site and within the workshop as required
  • To ensure the Company Quality Standards are maintained and all relevant workshop documentation is completed to meet the ISO9001:2008 BSI Standard Before starting any jobs ensure that barrier creams are applied and ensure the relevant PPE is worn
  • Implement and follow training and guidelines as detailed in the Occupational Health and Safety manual
  • To ensure all jobs are booked onto the EMIR System including photographs.
  • Photographs should be taken on receipt, during dismantle if particular problems are encountered and once a job has been completed and before dispatch.

Requirements of a Maintenance Electrician:

  • To ensure the Company vehicles are roadworthy and kept in a clean and tidy condition.
  • All defects should be reported to the line manager immediately
  • To ensure all tools and equipment is maintained to ensure the safety of the user (replaced where necessary)
  • Recognized and established work practices and quality standards
  • Ensure that good housekeeping standards are maintained Ensure that the premises are secured at close of business
  • Must have previous experience within a similar role
  • City & Guilds Test & Inspection - This is a Must
  • NICEIC Certificate - ideally

Maintenance Electrician 

The right Maintenance Electrician will hold:

  • Install and or maintain all electrical & electro-mechanical plant or machinery in line with Company requirements.
  • Operate a preventative electrical maintenance system to ensure that the plant & machinery is in good working order.
  • Fault find and repair any electrical or electro-mechanical related problems on the plant or equipment.
  • Fault Find Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC equipment.
  • Ensure that all plant and machinery is kept in a good working and clean condition.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork associated with the task being performed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Report any problems regarding equipment and machinery immediately to the Engineering Team Leader.
  • Ensure that you are aware of the Company Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures and that you adhere to them at all times.
  • Promote Lean thinking and actively look for ways to improve efficiency.
  • Cooperate with supervision and fellow employees.
  • Complete Maintenance Work requests

Skills:

  • Apprentice Trained
  • Holding a ONC / City & Guilds in Electrical Engineer
  • You must have 16th/17th Edition wiring regulations
  • Knowledge and experience of fault finding and repairs to industrial systems
  • Knowledge of PLC programs and fault finding (Allen Bradley) (Siemens)
  • Conversant with VSD (variable speed drives)
  • Able to read schematic electrical drawings
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
