Job Description

An experienced Business Development Manager from the freight forwarding industry is being sought by a successful, independent Freight Forwarder following a period of continued growth. You could be part of the next exciting chapter in this expanding company’s story. 

The company have built a solid foundation within the EU, Far East and Asian markets and they are now looking to grow their UK business with the addition of an experienced Business Development Manager.  

This is a completely new position reporting directly to the Managing Director with real earning potential. The role will likely be home based 4 days per week but applicants must be prepared to travel to London once per week. 

Please note that candidates MUST have 3+ years of experience in a New Business Development position within the freight forwarding industry. Applications without this experience will not be considered.

DUTIES:

  • The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying winning new freight forwarding opportunities in the UK, Europe and the Far East.
  • Managing own diary and appointments, including attending meetings with prospective and existing customers on a regular basis
  • Regularly meeting and exceeding sales targets

REQUIREMENTS:

  • The Business Development Manager will have at least 3+ years in a new business development position within the freight forwarding industry
  • Demonstrable experience of achieving and meeting monthly/annual sales targets
  • Will have experience of selling freight forwarding solutions via either Road, Sea or Air.

  • Previous experience of working in, and able to demonstrate an understanding of, a manufacturing environment
  • Plastics experience would be beneficial but not essential

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar installation role
  • Exposure to various CCTV, Access Control, Intruder and Fire Alarm systems
  • Competent Engineer capable of independent working
  • Willingness to travel around the Berkshire, Bucks, Surrey, West London areas
  • Full, clean driving license
  • Ability to pass a CRB check

Due to continued expansion we are seeking to recruit a Maintenance Planner to join our established process engineering business that has a presence across the UK. 

Duties of a Maintenance Planner 

You will be required to support the maintenance team in providing technical support and plant related project planning, whilst also championing the use of preventative maintenance strategies.

The role will initially see you spending some time undertaking both planned and reactive maintenance within the plant as part of the maintenance team. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and co-ordinate all maintenance activities ensuring adequate resources are available
  • Liaise with the Senior Maintenance Team Members for equipment availability
  • Manage and update the CMMS system 
  • Ensure Risk Assessments/Method Statements are complete
  • Manage maintenance contracts and site inspection plans
  • Provide maintenance records for Quality audits
  • Produce and review weekly and monthly planning figures and present results
  • Support maintenance team with other activities such as arranging plant specific training

Requirements of a Maintenance Planner

  • To succeed in the role you must hold either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualifications to either a City & Guilds or NVQ level 3 and must be able to demonstrate a minimum of 2-3 years' experience of maintenance planning within a manufacturing, production or process environment.
  • You must also be able to demonstrate significant experience administering a CMMS system, be IT literate and confident working with Engineering and Production staff.

Requirements of a Graduate Engineer:

To succeed in the role you must hold a Degree in either an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering discipline and have either:- 

Held some form of “hands on” maintenance role where you have undertaken both planned and reactive maintenance to plant and equipment within either a Manufacturing, Process or Production environment. 

OR 

Managed or supported in the management of the scheduling and planning of maintenance activities utilising one of the mainstream CMMS packages such as Maximo, SAP or Shires.
