I am looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer on behalf of a leading manufacturer in the industry. The role of Maintenance Engineer will be to manage the maintenance and improve all fixed plant and facilities; assist in the preventative maintenance to ensure maximum availability, performance, and quality. This is an outstanding opportunity to work for a highly protected multi– million-pound organisation. 

  • Salary £35,000
  • The shifts are 4 on 4 off 12 hour rotating days and nights 7-7
  • 20 days holiday at 12 hours which is very competitive.

Along with an NVQ Level 3/ ONC/ City & Guilds in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, the ideal Maintenance Engineer must come from a manufacturing environment. 

The Maintenance Engineer role will include the following:

  • To maintain the plant to produce product at world class levels of performance, quality, and cost
  • To maintain the plant through breakdown repair and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives on site to help improve the OEE of the plants.

Production Manager Key Responsibilities

  • Attend or chair daily/weekly/monthly meetings and briefs, as required, in order to communicate departmental/company information.
  • Ensure safe and clean working practices and monitor via housekeeping audits. Ensure orders and resources are prioritized and communicated accordingly.
  • Team development through appropriate coaching and training programmes. Monitoring and control of performance using Visual Management techniques.

Production Planner Function:

  • The Production Planner will plan, schedule and monitor workload through manufacturing components.
  • Ensure components workload is planned in advance for each resource in manufacturing, to enable the delivery of the correct materials/tools/programs etc. Thus, enabling the accurate delivery of spares and capital work to internal and external customers.

Person Specification:

  • Ability to plan and communicate production orders under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills. The Production Planner will be able to interact well with internal and external customers.
  • Proficient use of computer systems and software applications.
  • In‐depth knowledge of ERP or MRP software preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years production planning experience in a related industry.
