They are specialists in construction projects with an ever-increasing scale and complexity nationwide. They have established a broad client base with projects ranging from small residential properties through to vast commercial developments.

They offer civil and structural engineering expertise, ground investigation, health and safety services and building surveying as well as other specialised services and consulting support.

The Role:

  • Undertake structural design on a wide variety of civil and structural projects within the commercial, residential care, industrial and education sectors on projects up to £15 million in value

Person Specification:

  • You will be chartered or approaching chartership status through IStructE or ICE and have a minimum of 7 years post graduate experience
  • Have design experience and structural analysis skills in all common structural materials including steel, concrete, timber and masonry
  • Proficient in relevant engineering design software
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Be able to manage your own workload to meet client requirements and project timeframes and supervise project engineers/technicians accordingly
  • Confidently represent the company at meetings and liaise with clients, consultants and contractors
  • A positive team member
  • Able to write accurate reports and project documentation
  • Have a full driving licence and own transport

Salary:

  • Attractive salary, negotiable dependant on experience, with the prospects of long-term development within a growing company

The Role:

As workloads are increasing, they require a Design Engineer who is willing to apply their experience, whilst learning about client’s products and processes.

This role is primarily based at their head office in Leicester, but their customers can be anywhere and there will be times when you will need to visit site to conduct detailed site surveys. Therefore, it is imperative that you are able to drive and

have a full driving licence. They can also work pretty much anywhere in the world and it may be necessary to travel overseas for a few days at a time, sometimes at short notice.

Key Responsibilities for a Design Engineer:

  • You will create 3D models of client’s solutions using Solidworks and then break them down into fabrication and installation drawings whilst helping to develop the solutions and standard drawings in the process

Person Specification for a Design Engineer:

  • Must be able to use Solidworks effectively and have a minimum qualification of HNC in Mechanical Engineering, ONC qualification will be considered, if you are able to demonstrate a proven track record in a technical role
  • Steelwork fabrication experience would also be beneficial
  • A sharp, ambitious and enthusiastic Design Engineer
  • You must be diligent, systematic and have pride in your work to ensure every drawing is completed to a satisfactory standard
  • You must be able to write clear and concise technical English as you will be required to liaise with the sales team, customers, suppliers and project managers and it must be clear and professional at all times
  • Must be eligible to live and work in the UK.

Salary for a Design Engineer:

  • £28,000 - £35,000
