This role is commutable from the following locations: Stretford / Sale / Stockport / Salford / Manchester

Ideally the CNC Turner will have the following: 

  • Previous experience within a Similar role 
  • Experience with 3,4 & 5 AXIS vertical machining 
  • Knowledge of operating CMM Machines
  • Practical experience of manufacturing techniques 
  • Previous experience in Operating a CNC / CMM Machines 
  • Checking of drawing where required when using CMM Machines
  • Ideally we are looking for this individual to hold previous experience with CNC machinery and CMM.
  • Time Served Engineer
  • Holding a formal qualification in Engineering

DUTIES OF MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

  • Provide support for Commercial, Technical and Production functions
  • Produce shop floor documentation for new or modified jobs
  • CNC Programming 
  • Prove out CNC programs
  • Design and produce part and tooling models using Delcam Powershape CAD package
  • Provide assistance with CNC Programs
  • Identification for areas of improvements to cycle times and cost reductions

REQUIREMENTS OF MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

  • It would be highly beneficial for you to have experience of Powermill and Powershape 
  • All CNC experience is considered
  • All controls experience will be considered, though it would be advantageous for you to have knowledge of FANUC / MAZATOL
  • To have completed an Apprenticeship
  • 3,4 & 5 axis milling machines
  • CMM Knowledge would be helpful though not essential
  • PC-DIMIS programming experience would be the cherry on the cake, but again, not essential
  • To be able to work from engineering drawings

A position has become available for a Health and Safety Manager in the Wigan area.

If you have any exposure to Environmental, all the better, however, if not, development will be offered on this specific area.  This is a unique manufacturing environment, and there is a steady and consistent demand for their products and services.

DUTIES OF HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL SUPERVISOR

  • Inspect and assess the environment, equipment, and processes
  • Responsibility for implementing the safety and environmental culture and maintain ISO 14001:2015 on all 3 sites
  • You will be the main point of contact for all the authorities and legal agencies
  • Establish new contract with subcontractors for environmental issues, (GHG/CO2 emissions, measurements, waste management)
  • Lead accident investigations, or near miss
  • Lead investigations of any environmental discrepancies, in terms of emissions, waste, pollution and spills
  • Organise and coordinate internal and external audits
  • Risk assessments
  • Propose short and long-term (five- year plan) safety and environmental objectives

REQUIREMENTS OF HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL SUPERVISOR

  • NEBOSH required
  • Health and Safety experience at a Senior Level
  • It would be beneficial to have Environmental experience, however, development in this area is offered
  • Happy to travel between sites (Wigan, Birmingham, and Durham) though your base will be Wigan
  • Risk assessment knowledge
