BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager who has strong experience in the Component Manufacturing industry.

  • Starting Salary - £50,000 + £60,000 - DOE

The successful candidate MUST have previous experience as a Business Development Manager or have worked in another senior Sales position. Having a history of winning new business in the component manufacturing industry or have previously worked as a Tier 1 supplier in the Automotive sector is CRUCIAL for this role. 

DUTIES:

  • As Business Development Manager you will be expected to expand and discover new clients along with Identifying and supporting new business opportunities
  • Creating, negotiating, and closing profitable new business deals and commercial agreements at most senior levels
  • Preparing and presenting Business Opportunities to the CEO / Senior Management / Board outlining including strategic fit, financial data, profitability, and potential for future account growth
  • Maintain and manage current accounts, meeting regularly with relevant customer personnel, spanning all functions/positions through to Senior level, ensuring the customer feels well-supported
  • Establish, negotiate and update selling prices by monitoring costs, competition, and supply and demand

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a dynamic, fast-paced individual with background and proven track record in sales, business development and winning new business
  • Experience within a 1st or 2nd Tier supplier in the Automotive industry is a must
  • An engineering background and understanding of CNC Machining, processes and tools would be an advantage 
  • Have an extensive past client portfolio / contacts base. Erls
  • Remain aware of market trends
  • Full UK driving licence

  • Work experience in the process industries or with instrumentation is advantageous but not essential, as is commercial sales experience
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure and the capacity to work as a member of a team and as an individual
  • Comfortable with a consultative selling approach with questioning technique
  • Have a strong Technical background in either sales or engineering

DUTIES OF MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

  • Provide support for Commercial, Technical and Production functions
  • Produce shop floor documentation for new or modified jobs
  • CNC Programming 
  • Prove out CNC programs
  • Design and produce part and tooling models using Delcam Powershape CAD package
  • Provide assistance with CNC Programs
  • Identification for areas of improvements to cycle times and cost reductions

REQUIREMENTS OF MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

  • It would be highly beneficial for you to have experience of Powermill and Powershape 
  • All CNC experience is considered
  • All controls experience will be considered, though it would be advantageous for you to have knowledge of FANUC / MAZATOL
  • To have completed an Apprenticeship
  • 3,4 & 5 axis milling machines
  • CMM Knowledge would be helpful though not essential
  • PC-DIMIS programming experience would be the cherry on the cake, but again, not essential
  • To be able to work from engineering drawings

  • Able to read Electrical drawings

  • Fault-finding abilities on PLC’s – Siemens preferably 
  • Must be Apprentice trained holding a formal qualification in Electrical engineering HNC / City & Guilds 
  • Minimum of 5 years-experience 
  • Hold great attention to details / be highly motivated / keen to join a busy organisation / Also keen to take on Overtime.
