Job Description

We are currently assisting a Global Leading Textiles & Manufacturing organisations in their search for a Service Representative. This role will require overseas travel and overnight stay, we are looking for an ambitious and motivated individual who is able to communicate at all levels. Ideally the individual will hold previous experience within Paper & Packaging environments.  

When not travelling overseas – your day to day will be working 2days from home and three days travelling to customers sites. (Area’s to be discussed) 

This role is commutable from the following locations:  Bolton / Rochdale / Manchester / Bury

Benefits the Service engineer will receive: 

  • Salary: £42,000 + £5,000 Bonus Issued yearly

We are looking for the Service engineer to hold the following experience: 

  • Previous experience with Paper machines and a good understanding of paper producing and processing.  
  • Carry out surveys on paper machinery 
  • Collect and report data from paper machines 
  • Make any adjustments and amendments to paper machinery. 
  • Deal with Repairs on Paper machinery – both Electrical and mechanical repairs 
  • Installation of new equipment / machinery 
  • Planned maintenance to support TPM Structures 
  • Repair and improve all aspects of electrical and mechanical needs 
  • Provide advice on the paper machinery to ensure and smoother performance
  • Identify and report changes and trends occurring 
  • Flexibility is key – (Travelling and overnights stays will be required) 
  • Great communicator with excellent IT skills – data analysis 
  • Self-motivated and able to work for a long period of time on their own. 
  • Holding a NVQ Level 3 Qualification – Electrical Engineering / Mechanical engineering 
  • Full UK Driving licence / Flexible and local / able to commit to the call out rota.

  • Minimum of 5 years-experience 
  • Experience with the following: Hydraulics & Pneumatics / PLC systems / Shredders and Granulators / Single and 3 Phase systems / Temp Controllers and pressure controllers

The maintenance engineer will be responsible and hold the following experience:  

  • Maintain and install all mechanical plant & machinery in line with company requirements.
  • React quickly, diagnose & repair any mechanical related problems on the plant or equipment.
  • Carry out our planned preventative maintenance schedule on the full range of equipment within the site .
  • Ensure that all plant and machinery is kept in a good, safe working & clean condition.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork associated with the task being performed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Carry out daily inspections as requested related to safety, air, steam and water leaks and complete repairs as necessary.
  • Report any problems regarding equipment and machinery immediately to the Engineering Team Leader.
  • Ensure that you are aware of the Company Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures and that you always adhere to them.
  • Complete Maintenance work orders, use of a CMMS system, Agility or similar
  • Experience with pneumatic & hydraulic equipment & systems
  • Knowledge of high-pressure steam boilers and systems
  • Welding skills such as MMA, TIG, MIG
  • General workshop skills, tools, lathe, milling etc.
  • Able to read schematic drawings
  • Some multi-skilling would be advantageous
  • Ideally you will be Apprentice trained holding a HNC / City & guilds Level 3 in Mechanical engineering.
