Are you an experienced Industrial or Product Designer with strong Surfacing skills?

Have you had recent surfacing experience of using NX or Creo?

Have your recent projects included surfacing complex and curved surfaces? 

We are working with a creative and innovative Product Design Company, who require urgent surfacing support for a 2022 project. 
The project will be working with and supported by an in-house Design Team who have already achieved the Concept and DFM aspect of the product.

The position requires a Contractor / Consultant with their own Seat / Software – either NX or Creo 

The duration of the project is likely to be 3 months for Phase 1 and extend to a further 3 months for Phase 2.

All applying applicants should be willing to attend weekly meetings and day long stays on site, in the M5 Corridor / Gloucestershire area.

Product Design Duties include:

Product Designer Requirements:

  • The Product Design position requires a minimum qualification of a degree or equivalent in design and at least three years’ experience in a paid design post is essential.
  • The successful applicant must be technically competent in a wide range of design/engineering skills and must have knowledge of new product development and product Introduction. 

Key Skills:

  • Self-motivated and keen to strive to create great consumer products

  • Excellent visual communication of concepts and ideas via traditional and digital sketching/drawing ability

The Electronic Engineer position will report to the Head of Engineering and will be the sole electronic biased engineer within a team of Product Design and Prototype Engineers. 

Duties of an Electronic Engineer will include:

  • The creation and development of battery management systems 
  • Ensuring battery management systems meet regulatory and company requirements for safety 
  • Charger design and writing detailed charger specifications 
  • Power Converter Design. 
  • Ensuring designs can comply with relevant EMC/EMI standards and modifying design where needed to ensure this is the case. 
  • Thermal management design of power electronics systems 
  • Design of battery powered electronics to meet global requirements. 
  • Research into new technology and investigating ways of incorporating this technology into future products. 
  • Use of simulation and PCB design software to create prototypes.

Electronic Engineer Requirements:

  • Minimum BEng/MEng degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or other relevant discipline 
  • Experience in the design of Battery Management Systems especially for Lithium-Ion technology. 
  • Experience in motor inverter design and motor control, particularly brushless DC motors, servo or stepper motors desirable. 
  • General knowledge of power electronic devices, including silicon based IGBTs, MOSFETs and wide bandgap technologies 
  • Understanding of device characteristics and issues with switching behaviour in real circuits, as well as power switch driver design 
  • Design of power electronics for both low voltage and mains voltage systems 
  • Excellent knowledge of analogue signal conditioning (e.g., op-amp circuit design) and ideally digital signal processing approaches 
  • Schematic capture using Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics or other mainstream tools 
  • Use of SPICE based simulation tools such as Simetrix and LTspice 
  • Design calculation tools such as Mathcad, Matlab, Excel. 
  • Circuit simulation and tolerance analysis 
  • Robust design including FMEA techniques 
  • Design for high volume manufacture 
  • PCB layout – size/cost minimisation while achieving layouts for inherently good EMC compliance and thermal design.

The Electronic Engineer opportunity will be part of the full product life cycle of a project and will require visits to overseas suppliers and manufactures, to ensure the integrity of designs are maintained. Design Engineer Candidate Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for the following; 

  • The Design Engineer will support the Group Quality Council process to identify and resolve problems raised at the root cause quickly and effectively and manage engineering change process.
  • Work with teams across models to produce full manufacturing specification package including Engineering BOMs and Drawings.
  • Follow Group standards in the areas of FMEA, DFM, prototype development and field testing, follow Group engineering standards and associated IT systems, to ensure effective global management of released engineering data.

The purpose of the Senior Finance Controller will involve being responsible for the day to day running of the Finance Department. This role is critical to ensuring the companies control environment is adequate to minimise risk exposure.
