I am recruiting an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join a very established Plastics company.  You will be required to carry out maintenance work requirements for machines and equipment, plant, and buildings. Ideally previous Injection Mould or Blow Mould experience would be beneficial.

This is an excellent opening for someone with who wants some managerial responsibility, as you will be required to step up as Team Leader when the Manager is off. Along with a competitive salary of £38,000, the company offers overtime at an additional rate, holiday, and company pension. Hours for this role are Monday-Friday 10pm-6am. 

Duties for the role of Maintenance Engineer:

  • Carry out all planned maintenance tasks to set standards.
  • Carry out safety checks of machines, equipment and plant and complete periodic safety records.
  • To undertake tasks required for the installation of machines, plant and equipment to working standards.
  • To respond to and provide an immediate maintenance service.
  • To make, fabricate and assemble special purpose parts and equipment.
  • Along with the Team maintain effectiveness of Team and Area performance.
  • To carry out the role of other team members as required.
  • To maintain good housekeeping.
  • Weekly sprinkler maintenance.
  • Maintain and record water treatment as company procedures

The role of Maintenance Engineer is commutable from either Nottingham or Derby.

  • Completing installation and upgrade projects in a timely manner whilst maintaining quality standards

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar installation role
  • Exposure to various CCTV, Access Control, Intruder and Fire Alarm systems
  • Competent Engineer capable of independent working
  • Willingness to travel around the Berkshire, Bucks, Surrey, West London areas
  • Full, clean driving license
  • Ability to pass a CRB check

The Role

They are now looking to strengthen and reinforce the team, with an experienced Electrical Design Engineer, ideally suited to someone looking for the next challenge in their career. The right candidate will take ownership of the electrical design for the ongoing development of new and existing systems. 

On a day to day basis, perform electrical design activities associated with the delivery of projects, to end users and partners, from project launch to handover on site.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • Interpret design input information to produce electrical control panel/ system designs based on the current ISO, EN, and BS standards

  • Design & production of electrical layouts & schematic drawings using appropriate CAD tools

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have / be:

  • Ideally educated to Degree level, or a minimum of HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering 
  • Prior experience working in a similar role, including electrical design and commissioning would be highly advantageous 
  • Familiar with 415v motor drive systems, soft starts, and inverter drives and familiar with 24v DC motor drive systems would be useful
  • Previous use of AutoCAD (EPLAN highly advantageous)
  • Working knowledge of relevant standards governing the controls automation industry

Hours and Benefits:

  • £35,000 - £45,000 dependant on experience
