HSEQ MANAGER

Due to an upcoming retirement, a long-standing partner is recruiting a replacement HSEQ Manager.

This role is available on a full time or part-time basis (2 – 3 days per week).

The Company has over 30 years of experience, they are accredited and tested to some of the highest and most stringent standards, offering an all-in-one solution, including design, consultation, manufacture, installation and maintenance of projects.

HSEQ Manager Salary: £25,000 - £35,000, dependant on experience (full-time or part-time hours available)
Hours: 8am – 4:30pm

HSEQ Manager Candidate Requirements

  • NEBOSH General Certificate.
  • IOSH Minimum membership – TechIOSH
  • Working towards C&G Level 5 qualification in Occupation Health and Safety Practice
  • IEMA Approved Associate Certificate
  • IEMA Membership minimum IEMA Associate
  • Quality qualification minimum Lead Auditor

HSEQ Manager Key Responsibilities

  • The HSEQ Manager will lead, develop & manage the behavioural SHEQ programme to include all current systems.
  • Monitor & maintain systems certification to CE Marking EN1090-1, ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS 18001 & RISQS Rail audits.
  • Determine & schedule audits to maintain systems accreditation and undertake internal audits.
  • Deliver toolbox talks & assist in the identification of training needs for employees amongst other responsibilities.
  • Provide expert support & advice for the site's behavioural HSEQ programme & to lead site-wide initiatives aimed at improving fair culture on site(s).
  • Act as the human factors specialist for the site, providing expert advice to the team on human performance into various HSEQ systems.
  • Give specialist human factors support to the branch & provide expert input into incident investigations, human failure analysis & change management.

DUTIES OF THE SENIOR QUALITY ENGINEER

  • Day to day control of quality assurance activities
  • Develop the relationship with the Quality Manager
  • Support APQP quality related activities

QUALITY ENGINEER

To utilise quality and engineering skills in the provision of professional inspection, testing and improvement service in maintaining ‘best in class’ status.

The Quality Engineer will also apply enthusiastic initiative in problem-solving and the development of an ‘in-house’ customer service and supplier initiatives.

Quality Engineer Package and Benefits

  • £34,000 - £36,000. Negotiable dependent on experience

Person Specification

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience gained within Quality Engineering environmental Management (ideal industry being automotive / aerospace) – desirable, not essential.
  • Degree or HND in Engineering Management systems or mechanical engineering.
  • Significant knowledge and experience in controlling management systems in quality within an engineering or production/manufacturing environment.
  • Managing multidisciplined quality teams.
  • Working knowledge of ISO9001.
  • Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) & ATeX experience would be useful, but training will be given. 
  • Produce 8D’s, RCCM’s.
  • Chartered status in Quality (CQI) and a Metallurgist would also be advantageous but isn’t essential.

Quality Engineer Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

Culture and Improvements

  • Instrumental in the development of a culture of determining root cause and providing cost-effective solutions.
  • Become an active Operational process owner / team member. Ensure the continuous development of the Quality Management System (QMS) in consultation with the Operations management team.

Systems and Compliance

  • Involvement in external accreditations such as ISO 9001- & third-party audits.
  • Ensure that a continued proactive and inclusive approach to Quality standards are maintained and practically complied with throughout the entire business by liaison with all levels of the business

Measurement, Analysis, Root Cause and Action Management

  • Lead timely completion and drive action achievement for Root Cause Analysis determined by NCR’s and scrap reports. Lead Quality investigations and subsequent improvements.
  • Provide guidance on Quality tools and techniques to drive Quality improvement. Conduct scheduled Quality audits (as leader/member of audit teams). Monthly reporting to Quality Engineering Manager including relevant Key Performance Indicators. Lead improvement Kaizen and 8D teams.

 Communication and Training

  • Instrumental in the operation of the monthly Quality Improvement meeting. Contribute to communication formats – Quality Flashes, Toolbox Talks, 8D. Identify needs, promote and initiate relevant Quality and related skills training. Support in the continued development of Quality Induction Training.

Testing

  • Utilise relevant materials testing skills in providing a timely service in support of production activities – Dye Pen, Ferrite, Surface Checking, etc. Manage departmental material testing regime – external tests. Record events using recognised systems.

Customer Interface

  • Liaise with customer representatives with respect to physical checks and inspections (in line with customer order and documentation requirements). Input of specific inspection activities to enable the development of ITP’s.

Supplier Interface

  • Proactive liaison with relevant internal departments in problem-solving with suppliers. Immediate supplier liaison on problems associated to deviations to standards, specifications and drawings.

MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN

I am looking to recruit a Maintenance Electrician role for a leading global organisation within the Manufacturing sector. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a team to provide breakdown cover and maintain machinery and Automation equipment.

The shifts for the Maintenance Electrician role are 4 on 4 off days and nights 6-6.

  • To provide shift breakdown cover on all machines, automation equipment and any ancillary equipment.

  • To support and implement progressive improvements of our existing manufacturing automation processes working with both internal and external resources

Works Supervisor Role Overview

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Workshop Supervisor will oversee approximately 50 staff, on a double day shift, consisting of Team Leader, Operators, Laborers and Apprentices.

Salary: £40,000 per annum

Candidate Requirements

  • The Works Supervisor will have proven experience of supervising or managing in an engineering / manufacturing environment.
  • Machining exposure, particularly grinding would be highly advantageous.
  • Willing and able to work double days shifts.
  • A good communicator, who is able to mentor and get the best out people. 

Works Supervisor Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • Maximise ‘lights out’ machining to increase Productivity and record this in TEAMS.
  • Ensure prior to the end of shift, all applicable machines are set up to run lights out, ensuring the Production Priority database is updated with the latest plans and actions which can be shared by all colleagues.
  • Explore ways of increasing Productivity with further possible unmanned or multi manning and conduct trials to reduce stock allowance for grinding which will reduce machining times. Conduct machining trials using tooling representatives and experts in the field. 
  • Monitor and review operator production efficiencies against targets and carry out any actions where targets are not met with the assistance of the Production team.   • Use ANDON boards to assist in the monitoring of Productivity and educate operators in the importance of booking accuracy.
  • Expect multi manning wherever possible. Always question areas that are not and consider options of how to improve this.
  • The Works Supervisor will implement LEAN techniques including 6S throughout the works. Aim for continuous improvement in order to save time and money.
  • Ensure all completed work is moved onto the next operation by operators and not left in racks for others to move.
  • Regularly review and update the skills' matrix plan to Identify areas of weakness within work cells and operators to ensure we have a fully skilled and flexible workforce.
  • Attend daily factory tour and include team leaders for their input.
  • Update machine capabilities to assist in planning the production requirements.
  • Communicate plans and instructions to colleagues during shift change handover and supply daily email for reference and for others to continue with the required actions.
  • Use initiative to make decisions, challenge set plans and try out new ideas.

  • MS Office proficiency with a good understanding of IT, software & IT solutions
