CNC Turner Key Responsibilities:

CHROME PLATER

Day to day duties for this Chrome Platers include:

  • Set and operate precision hard chrome plating tanks, ensuring absolute compliance with safety and quality procedures
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area 
  • Test and manage chemical levels and mixing to ensure process operates within set parameters
  • Perform routine tests: X-Ray testing, Copper Sulphate test, Air (Mist) test – as required for planned maintenance and process management
  • Carry out plant and jig inspections and maintenance (such as cleaning connections and ensuring jigs are in good working order)
  • Visually inspect components to required specification and use manual equipment for dimensional inspection
  • Act on data, analyse external reports & work with 3rd party process specialists
  • Make clear handovers with other shifts and ensure production and process continuity
  • Utilise the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to record production and process data

To be a successful Chrome Plater, the candidate should have:

  • Previous experience in chrome plating or experience operating chemical processing lines
  • Eye for quality and a desire for continuous improvement
  • Excellent communications skills

Pay & Hours: 

  • The starting rate for this position is £12.82 per hour

COSTING ENGINEER

Working with the relevant design, manufacturing and purchasing teams and reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Costing Engineer will be responsible for providing full cost analysis of each new and existing machine. The Costing Engineer will also be required to identify and execute significant cost down opportunities in fabricated assemblies, bought-in components and machine build efficiencies.

Costing Engineer Person Specification

  • You must have proven experience of Costing Engineer or Value Engineer type roles, with responsibility of cost analysis and costing down
  • Engineering degree or evidence of equivalent (ideally)
  • Proven experience of machine cost analysis / fabricated assemblies, and proven ability to manipulate data and generate cost models
  • Experience of heavy equipment and CAD would be a distinct advantage
  • Strong computer skills especially MS excel. Strong planning and execution skills 
  • The ability to prioritise work and thrive in a fast-moving business to meet tight deadlines

Good English communication skills, both written and spoken, good presentation and interpersonal skills, with a Global outlook and exposure to different challenges & cultures

Costing Engineer Key Responsibilities 

  • Full cost analysis of existing products including standard Bills of Material, standard and non-standard options
  • Support new product development with costing analysis. Cost analysis / target pricing on all new and modified products
  • The Costing Engineer will provide forecasted costs for all machines using established costing templates. Creation of standard component engineering / cost libraries
  • Analyse and compare welding fabrications with regard to new designs. Review all sub-assemblies in terms of materials and labour costs
  • Work with the manufacturing and finance teams to identify sectional BoMs. Will be a key driver in cost down projects in the department.
  • Support Product Managers in generating pricing, Price Book updates as needed, support the engineering team as requested by the engineering manager
  • Analysis of Purchase Price Variance and maintain cost trackers. Identify opportunities for value engineering or process efficiencies within existing as well as new product

STOCK CONTROLLER

  • Locating programs and adjust tonnage and tooling for each part being formed.

MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

I am looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer on behalf of a Precision Engineering company. This is a multi-skilled role that will include Maintenance on machinery and facilities both Electrical and Mechanical. 

This is a day’s role with hours either 8am-4.30pm or 10am-6.30pm with a package of:

  • Salary £35,000 depending on experience.

Along with an NVQ Level 3/ ONC/ City & Guilds the ideal candidate/ Maintenance Engineer must have previous experience with Electrical equipment including PLC controls and CNC machinery is desirable. 

The Maintenance Engineer role will include the following:

  • Provide preventive maintenance on all machinery and equipment to ensure effective running.
  • Review TPM schedules to ensure operatives complete in a timely manner and inform Team Leaders of deficiencies
  • Report back to the Maintenance Supervisor & Manager on concerns regarding the operational status of machinery
  • Ensure, through regular checks; the power, lighting, LEV and water systems are maintained.
