We are seeking to recruit a proven Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing plant within the Maintenance team to support the operation. As a Maintenance Engineer you will be expected to carry out maintenance work requirements for machines and equipment, plant, and buildings. Ideally qualified to Level 3 in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and to have had exposure to Injection Mould machinery would be an advantage. 

Maintenance Engineer benefits include:

Some duties may for the role of Maintenance Engineer include:

  • To carry out all planned maintenance tasks to set standards.
  • To carry out safety checks of machines, equipment and plant and complete periodic safety records.
  • To undertake tasks required for the installation of machines, plant and equipment to working standards.
  • Respond to and provide an immediate maintenance service.
  • To make, fabricate and assemble special purpose parts and equipment.

As the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer, your duties will include:

  • You must hold formal Mechanical Apprenticeship or HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering, 18th Edition Regulations.
  • An electrically biased role, but you will be expected to undertake all mechanical and pneumatic duties to ensure production downtime is minimised
  • Experienced in PLC’s(programming and fault-finding), process controls and AC/DC and Servo drivers.

We are currently recruiting for a UK Leading Manufacturing organisation based in the Greater Manchester location, we are looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join a already established team on site.

This Maintenance Fitter position is commutable from the following locations: Rochdale / Bury / Heywood / Middleton / Oldham

Ideally the Maintenance Fitter will have the following: 

  • Previous experience within a Mechanical fitters role. 
  • Experience with the following kit: Pneumatic / Hydraulics and Steam Systems
  • Experience with logging water / oil and gas reading and testing of steam boiler devices 
  • Previous experience within a Heavy engineering environment 
  • Provide full mechanical service and maintenance throughout the site. 
  • Maintain and repair all machinery on site. 
  • Ideally we are looking for an Apprentice trained engineer who holds a NVQ / City & Guilds in mechanical engineering. 
  • Flexibility is key to this role as this role will require Shift work.

Duties of a Maintenance Manager:  

As Maintenance Manager you will lead a multi-disciplined team to ensure the companies state of the art production facility operates to its optimum and that downtime is kept to a minimum. 

As part of your role you will also be tasked with driving improvement within the skills base of your team, allied to the performance of the plant and equipment on site. You will also be responsible for both Capex and Continuous Improvement Projects across the facility. 

Requirements of a Maintenance Manager:

You must be qualified to either an HND or Degree level and have a proven background in leading a maintenance team within a highly technical manufacturing environment, where you have had direct responsibility for plant performance, achieving targets, process development, mentoring staff, setting and monitoring KPI’s and managing plant critical projects.
