Role Purpose

  • The Project Manager will manage projects assigned to you to maximise profitability for completion of the project to the contracted standard, with the aim of achieving the contracted schedule with efficient use of resources
  • To manage the risk on your projects to maximise profitability and adherence to schedule and to resolve problems as they arise in projects, mobilising the appropriate expertise where necessary. In particular, to work with the Installation & Commissioning Manager on site problems.
  • You will also maintain good and regular communication with the Operations team, liaise with the customer, gaining early notice of any problems, manage changes to the project to the company’s advantage – selling modifications where appropriate and agreeing achievable changes to schedule and specification.

Project Manager Person Specification

  • You will be Degree qualified, or suitably experienced within a technical / process / project management environment.
  • Customer focused, commercially aware / realistic.
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal – at all business levels.
  • Strong meeting management skills.
  • High level of PC literacy.
  • Decisive, analytical thinker – excellent prioritisation, organisational and problem-solving abilities. Positive “Can Do” attitude, not willing to accept status quo (looking to improve practices and profitability).
  • Flexible with some overseas travel.

Project Manager Key Responsibilities

  • Keep records (both paper and electronic) to allow reference during and after the project execution, and report project status to the business as required.
  • Collect payment from the customer when invoices become due, ensuring the relevant documentation is properly managed. Ensure company documentation is completed at the relevant stages of the project.
  • To obtain sign-off from the customer at the close of the project, agreeing the start of warranty and getting feedback on performance.
  • The Project Manager will ensure site work is correctly progressed, liaising with the Installation & Commissioning Manager as much as required. To ensure the customer is informed of progress and is aware of their responsibility to progress the project.
  • Provide sales support before order take, when required, ensure project risk is effectively reviewed and mitigated throughout its duration and plan the despatch schedule such that it suits contractual commitments and the installation schedule for maximum efficiency.
  • Attend project meetings at the customer site as required, which may involve international travel. Call/manage project related meetings as required to resolve problems and obtain clear action plans

Project Engineer Duties 

  • The purpose of the role is to support the customer and the European Manufacturing Centre with project management activities related to the safe and quick installation of equipment into brown and green field site locations around the world. 
  • Some projects will be multimillion pound programmes that may take over 18 months to complete, and some are smaller projects that may only take a few months to sign-off.
  • As a Project Engineer you will be the main point of contact with all relevant parties and have responsibility for creating and working to a tight project plan and P&ID drawings, ensuring that all parties and equipment are in the right place at the right time. 
  • Problem solving and communication skills will play a major part of this position and will often require international travel at short notice for an average of 7 – 10 days to deal with urgent issues. 
  • Liaison with specialist and industry field experts will also be a big part of this position. 
  • Project planning and communicating changes and compromises to relevant parties through data and new drawings are essential for this new role, along with understanding the limits of the products and internal manufacturing capabilities. 

Project Engineer Requirements 

  • A formal Degree or similar qualification in Chemical Engineering
  • 2 Years post study experience within a Chemical Process / System Design environment 
  • Good ability to use CAD Software 2D / 3D 
  • Good exposure to ATEX, HAZOPS and H&S regulations and requirements 
  • Some proven exposure of creating P&ID (PID) Drawings 
  • Some Project Engineering experience 
  • Good communication skills 
  • Team Player

Junior Project Coordinator Person Specification

  • Qualified to degree/ HND level or above in Electronics, Acoustics or Music Technology-based subjects.
  • Experience in a project management role or similar, with experience working in a target driven environment and working to deadlines.
  • The Junior Project Co-ordinator will be a guitar player, and confident with the setting up of amplifiers etc.
  • Ideally you will have experience of Microsoft Office, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confident working with numerical data and financial information.
  • Incredibly organised, independent and self-reliant, being able to work without close supervision, a very methodical and a diligent record keeper. A positive ‘can-do/ go getter’ attitude with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience working in a purchasing role, although not essential.

Project Management

Production Planner Function:

  • The Production Planner will plan, schedule and monitor workload through manufacturing components.

Role Function

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Section Leader will manage a team of people within a designated Manufacturing section. You will have direct day-to-day responsibility for the communication, workload, quality and staff performance of all activities within the designated manufacturing team.

You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment, by ensuring that all health and safety regulations are strictly adhered to, and to identify areas for improvement and drive through changes to gain bottom line results.

The ideal candidate for this Laser Setter/Operator role must be experienced in:

  • Previous experience using Bystronic machines is essential 
  • Previous site experience would be advantageous together with a FLT license
  • Operating in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.
