The role will allow for some hybrid working following successful probation.


Senior Design Engineer Salary and Benefits

  • £40,000 - £45,000
  • 39.5 Hours per week
  • 8:45am – 5:00pm, 4pm finish on Friday’s, or you can work 8:00am – 4:00pm Monday to Friday

Senior Design Engineer Candidate Requirements 

  • Any experience within heavy engineering, castings or similar would be a huge advantage.
  • Ideally qualified to HND or Degree level, but this isn’t essential. 
  • You must have a sound knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and product design processes. 
  • Proven experience using both AutoCAD 2D and Inventor. 
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Mentoring and support of junior staff. 
  • The right personality is key, you will be an excellent communicator and a good listener.
  • Able to travel overseas when needed – this won’t be too frequent.


Senior Design Engineer Key Responsibilities

  • The Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for the management of design activities from concept through to production validation.
  • The robust design of products in accordance with the department procedures.
  • Investigating design factors such as function, materials, performance, interchangeability, cost, operational efficiency.
  • Preparation of Project Engineering data for new product assemblies and components, 3D / 2D Drawings, BOM's, Technical Specifications.
  • Customer technical liaison on new projects, ensuring that the designs meet the customer's requirements and often exceed their expectations and remain competitive to achieve sales growth and increase market share.
  • FEA of critical components.

CAD Designer (Shopfitting) Role Overview

Due to the growth of the company, the business is seeking an enthusiastic person to join their Design department. The role will be to specialise in the design of retail equipment within Interior Shop Fit Outs. Knowledge of CAD Design, Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks and having a background within retail shopfitting would be hugely advantageous. 

The ideal candidate will be able to work as part of a team and follow instructions but also act on your own accord, whilst working to tight deadlines and schedules. The role will be to create full production drawing packs, create cutting list and requisition sheets whilst supporting the rest of the team, ensuring all projects are delivered on schedule and on budget.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all Chemical Engineering is compliant
  • HAZOP assessments
  • Design, implement and commission plant modifications, modifications to existing plant

My client is well established within its field and produces some big brand products for the likes of Screwfix, B&Q and Wickes. They are looking for a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer who will have an understanding of Siemens S7 and have worked in a heavy engineering environment. 

This position would be ideal for someone with plant maintenance skills and a good knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics. You will be working a continental shift pattern, and you will be paid a lifestyle bonus of £47 for every weekend day worked (excluding overtime). This will take your salary to around £50,589.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the manufacture, modification, maintenance, and repair, of a variety of equipment and ancillaries, ensuring that the fleet remains in prime working condition.

Key Duties

  • As a Plant Fitter, your key responsibilities will include: 
  • Using appropriate processes and techniques, you will read and interpret engineering drawings to complete manufacture and modification as requested.
  • Experience and skill of fault-finding, maintenance and repair of heavy-duty construction plant and hydraulic systems would be ideal.

Requirements of the Plant Fitter 

To excel in this role, you must meet the following criteria: 

  • You must hold a full UK driving licence and a Level 2 qualification in Plant Maintenance or equivalent.
  • This is a fitter role for the rigs not the factory, so previous experience is needed in heavy plant/ construction equipment. 
  • Although this role is not a mobile fitter role, they will be expected to go out to sites to attend breakdowns and general repairs, so need to have a driving licence.
