We are working with an organisation that support a broad range of Blue-Chip Engineering Industry Companies with the fast delivery of electro-mechanical safety devices. These devices are often designed and hand built assembled to bespoke and tailored requirements of key customers, with a strong need to deliver high quality products within short lead times. 

To support this side of the operation and future proof systems and procedures for their new generation of innovated products, a Senior Manager position has been created to oversee and looking after the Quality and Compliance aspects of getting products from NPD through NPI safely, ensuring compliance within agreed time frames. Key Responsibilities of Quality Manager  

  • Ensuring that the products or service provided is consistent and always fit for purpose, meeting both external and internal requirements. (This includes compliance with legal requirements and standards set by regulatory bodies.)
  • Support and train employees in matters of quality, audit and inspection.
  • Be responsible for maintaining and conducting inspections and performing audits.
  • Lead the company’s efforts to maintain continuous product or service quality by implementing process controls, conducting data analysis and device measurement.
  • Involvement in NPD, NPI and engineering change activity to ensure product and process compliance.
  • Provide compliance expertise and specialist support as required.
  • Provide compliance and technical data to support product introductions with new and existing customers.
  • Advise on changes and offer recommendations on how to implement them
  • Direct and supervise vendor-supplied raw materials or partially finished goods, maintaining effective compliance and corrective action procedures.
  • Develop and manage effective and sustainable AQLs for both suppliers and customers.
  • Involvement in NPD, NPI and engineering change activity to ensure product compliance.

 

Quality Manager Key Requirements

  • Minimum Degree educated (or equivalent) and lead auditor qualifications
  • Thorough understanding and effective management of Total Quality Management, ISO90001 and associated policies in a global manufacturing supply chain
  • Thorough understanding of compliance requirements across all aspects of the supply chain
  • Excellent commercial and financial acumen, with strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Able to communicate complex technical, compliance and regulatory information in a simple, engaging manner.
  • A willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals.

  • To provide ISIR to support the PPAP, 
  • Support and Assist with First off and any other Quality issues and investigations 
  • These duties are not ‘limited’ or ‘fixed’ and you may be required to take on      additional reasonable responsibilities, as our business needs change.

REQUIREMENTS OF A CMM OPERATOR PROGRAMMER

  • Previous experience in operating CMM machines especially PC- DMIS & ITP software 
  • Previous Quality experience.
  • Ability to read cad / drawing data and understand GD&T 
  • Computer Literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and be prepared to be flexible as deadlines & priorities sometimes change
  • Ability to communicate confidently at all levels is essential

DUTIES OF A WAREHOUSE AND MATERIALS SUPERVISOR

  • Plan, organise and supervise all Warehouse, storage and loading for the facility
  • Working closely with Logistics and Manufacturing regarding incoming material and production planning
  • Using SAP, process transactions and ensuring that SAP is maintained and accurate
  • Coordinate and supervise yard personnel
  • Process purchase requisitions into orders in SAP

Works Supervisor Role Overview

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Workshop Supervisor will oversee approximately 50 staff, on a double day shift, consisting of Team Leader, Operators, Laborers and Apprentices.

Candidate Requirements

  • The Works Supervisor will have proven experience of supervising or managing in an engineering / manufacturing environment.
  • Machining exposure, particularly grinding would be highly advantageous.
  • Willing and able to work double days shifts.
  • A good communicator, who is able to mentor and get the best out people. 

Works Supervisor Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • Maximise ‘lights out’ machining to increase Productivity and record this in TEAMS.
  • Ensure prior to the end of shift, all applicable machines are set up to run lights out, ensuring the Production Priority database is updated with the latest plans and actions which can be shared by all colleagues.
  • Explore ways of increasing Productivity with further possible unmanned or multi manning and conduct trials to reduce stock allowance for grinding which will reduce machining times. Conduct machining trials using tooling representatives and experts in the field. 
  • Monitor and review operator production efficiencies against targets and carry out any actions where targets are not met with the assistance of the Production team.   • Use ANDON boards to assist in the monitoring of Productivity and educate operators in the importance of booking accuracy.
  • Expect multi manning wherever possible. Always question areas that are not and consider options of how to improve this.
  • The Works Supervisor will implement LEAN techniques including 6S throughout the works. Aim for continuous improvement in order to save time and money.
  • Ensure all completed work is moved onto the next operation by operators and not left in racks for others to move.
  • Regularly review and update the skills' matrix plan to Identify areas of weakness within work cells and operators to ensure we have a fully skilled and flexible workforce.
  • Attend daily factory tour and include team leaders for their input.
  • Update machine capabilities to assist in planning the production requirements.
  • Communicate plans and instructions to colleagues during shift change handover and supply daily email for reference and for others to continue with the required actions.
  • Use initiative to make decisions, challenge set plans and try out new ideas.
