METALLURGICAL TECHNICIAN

A position has become available for a Metallurgical Technician, where you will be given responsibility for the preparation and assessment of metallurgical samples for examination on both production parts and new products.

The employer is a leading international manufacturer of engineering components, specifically produced to operate into the most challenging of environments. They supply into a broad range of manufacturing sectors, to include, aerospace, power generation and automotive.

Due to continued growth and commitment, and following a huge investment in this facility, the need has arisen for a Metallurgical Technician to strengthen their team.

DUTIES OF METALLURGICAL TECHNICIAN

• Preparation and assessment of metallurgical samples for examination
• Expediting testing for alloy release
• Maintain and improve Lab 5S
• Metallurgical assessment and report for production and validation purposes
• Report of contamination samples
• Identify and process specimens 
• Macrostructure assessment and reporting
• Alloy release for production
• On time delivery of services

REQUIREMENTS OF METALLURGICAL TECHNICIAN

• Ideally educated to Degree level in Metallurgical / Materials Science, minimum HND
• Lab experience is essential
• IT literacy

This role is viewed as a successor to the Metallurgist with training provided & would suit a team player, who is honest, committed, and transparent
