Electro Plating Technician Required

Are you an Electro Plating Technician who is looking to step up their career to Technician level, this could be just the job for you! This is a unique working environment, with lots of new investment going into this facility.

Producing components for a variety of different industry sectors, this lends a huge amount of stability to this business.

Working Days, with always a lunchtime finish on Fridays, this is a great opportunity for an experienced Electro Plater, to join a friendly, supportive team.  You may either experienced with Electroplating, or Nitriding will also be considered.

You will be reporting to the Production Manager and you will be given responsibility for the operation of the Tin Plating Line process. Ensuring full compliance with Health and Safety, with strong attention to detail, this is a super opportunity.

Our location is conveniently commutable from Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, Oldbury, Walsall, Solihull, Aston, Solihull, Chelmsley Woods, Coventry, Atherstone, Lichfield, Minworth, Castle Vale and Yardley.

Responsibilities of Electro Plating Technician

  • Responsibility for operating of the Tin Plating Line process
  • Ensure the process produces the highest quality product
  • Trouble shoot new plating techniques and drive process performance improvements
  • Analyse of production data and engineering runs
  • Optimise the plating process
  • Quality checks by use of Xray machines, Pero washing
  • Operating and programming furnaces
  • 5S
  • Loading and unloading furnaces
  • Establish process controls
  • Cost and scrap reduction

Requirements for Electro Plating Technician

  • Experience of electroplating in a production environment
  • Nitriding experience readily consdidered
  • Previous experience of setting  up and sustaining electrochemistry equipment
  • Experience  of trouble shoot new plating techniques and driving process performance improvements
  • Handson knowledge of chemical development and electrochemical processes
  • FLT licence – Counter Balance would be beneficial
  • Previous experience of measuring equipment and chemicals
  • IT Literate
  • This would suit someone who enjoys being part of a team, with strong communication skills

Candidate Requirements

  • HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering or similar qualification.
  • Working experience in a high speed, high pressure electro-mechanical manufacturing and production environment within a Manufacturing Engineering function would be highly advantageous.
  • Hands on experience in use and application of PFMEA, Control Plan and Process Flow tools.
  • Strong track record in continuous improvement and project management.
  • Experience of Industrial design and Engineering (Factory layout, assembly process development).
  • Proven aptitude for detail, process control and documentation.
  • Demonstrate ability to work with commercial acumen and consideration within manufacturing design and development.


About you

  • The Manufacturing Engineer will be a process led, proactive and pragmatic engineer with a good eye for detail.
  • Good background skills in project, task and prioritisation management and communication.
  • Able to demonstrate experience in an electro-mechanical environment at a practical level.
  • You will have a background in process design and development that includes a strong understanding of whole-of-factory level impact and commercial considerations with regard to large change projects as well as continuous improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Planning, managing and delivering manufacturing programmes for process, equipment, tooling and factory layout improvements, as well step-change ground-up projects
  • Engineering solutions for manufacturing and production that deliver benefits in efficiency, quality and accuracy both today and for the future state
  • Managing and planning product changes (quality cost and time justification for and against within manufacturing, supporting NPI as part of a cross functional business wide team)
  • Future design and development of factory layout scenarios and process flow design in line with operational strategy
  • Supporting production engineering with longer term continuous improvement projects
  • Development of manufacturing standards, processes and measures in line with the business performance that can be translated globally across Operations


Desirable Experience

Any of the below would be useful but aren’t essential:
Experience in using AutoCAD or similar plant layout design CAD software, Working knowledge of production lean methodologies and associated tools i.e. OEE, TPM, 5S, Experience of working with quality management systems within manufacturing and production, Practical application of industry standard problem-solving tools i.e. 8D, 5Y, Team and project leadership experience in similar environment or role, Background and experience in automation solutions for production in similar industry or environment, Experience in jig and tool design, Ability to read and produce engineering drawings

RESPONSIBILITIES for PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

  • Design and develop high-quality products using CAD software, primarily Autodesk Inventor

Role Overview

Manufacturing Supervisor Pay, Hours and Benefits

Manufacturing Supervisor Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure production targets and quality standards are met.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of production employees to ensure efficient and high-quality manufacturing processes.
  • Monitor production performance and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards at all times.
  • Ensure all products meet quality standards and compliance requirements
  • Train and develop team members to enhance skills and efficiency

Duties of an Electrical Maintenance Engineer   

As a proven Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be required to undertake both planned and reactive maintenance across our plant, which will require you to have experience of supporting plant and equipment within either a fast paced manufacturing, process or production environment.

Requirements of an Electrical Maintenance Engineer   

Ideally you will be apprentice trained but must be qualified Electrically to a City & Guilds or NVQ standard and ideally have some understanding of Plc Controls. 

However you must be multi skilled in your abilities. Having gained your Maintenance experience from supporting plant and equipment within a fast paced manufacturing, process or production environment. 

The Electrical Maintenance role is commutable from Aldridge, Bloxwich, Cannock & Walsall.

If you are currently in an operator role and have some basic maintenance experience and are keen to develop these skills further (with our support) the role will see you progress into a full time maintenance post.

Duties of a Junior Maintenance Engineer  

As a proven Engineer you will be required to operate our equipment, allied to undertaking both planned and basic reactive maintenance tasks that will require you to hold good multi skilled abilities linked to both hydraulic and pneumatic skills.

Requirements of a Junior Maintenance Engineer 

Ideally you will be apprentice trained and hold formal electrical or mechanical qualifications to a City & Guilds or NVQ standard, having gained your operating and maintenance experience within a fast moving manufacturing or production environment, however we are keen to offer you support to continue to develop your maintenance skills.
