Job Description

A manufacturer of highly tested and certified components and products for the Automotive and Commercial Vehicle markets, are seeking a senior engineer to project manager the Quality Management Systems within their New Product Introduction process. 

The organisations facility consists of Design & Development Teams and Production & Manufacturing environments, that includes light engineering, plastic injection moulding, metal pressing and assembly and testing.

As a company they are well equipped to meet global market requirements and are fully certified to guarantee the reliability of their products. This has ensured repeat and new business opportunities.

The main purpose of the role is to liaise with other internal departments from product development through to introduction and release, ensuring all internal processes, materials and equipment are fully conversant to the companies own Quality Management Systems.

For the Senior Engineer position, we are looking for a senior engineer who has had exposure of working in the Automotive or Commercial Vehicle markets and who has carried out Quality Assurance types of functions and who is also fully conversant with ISO9001:2015 and ideally have knowledge of VDA 6 and IATF 16949.

The right candidate should also have a formal qualification in engineering and have good recent experience of working for a 1st or 2nd Tier Supplier, where quality and reliability has been majority of the daily work.
Candidates with good 8D, FMEA and good exposure of modern manufacturing environments will be a good match for this role

REQUIREMENTS

  • NEBOSH / IOSH General Certificate

  • Member of Environmental body such as IEMA
  • Internal and external auditing experience

DUTIES:

  • Small elements of design work. Plans are produced by the Design Engineer but may need to be altered on site at short notice. These alterations will be the responsibility of the Fire & Security Installation Engineer.
  • Maintaining high levels of customer service and satisfaction
  • Completing installation and upgrade projects in a timely manner whilst maintaining quality standards

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar installation role
  • Exposure to various CCTV, Access Control, Intruder and Fire Alarm systems
  • Competent Engineer capable of independent working
  • Willingness to travel around the Berkshire, Bucks, Surrey, West London areas
  • Full, clean driving license
  • Ability to pass a CRB check
