Do you like to travel? Are you an experienced APAP Quality Engineer, who would enjoy substantial European travel?
A large component manufacturing organisation, supplying direct in the automotive sector, have a requirement for an APQP Quality Engineer.
This is an exciting role, particularly if you like traveling.  As an APQP Quality Engineer, you will be given free rein to manage to the Quality in the development of Prototype, Pre-Launch and Production Control Plans.

  • Ensure quality tools are adequately planned and developed (functional analysis, DMFEA, design verification plan, PFMEA and Control Plan)
  • Ensure strict implementation of standards related to the Product Quality Assurance approach during all development process
  • Define the quality commitments during business acquisition stage
  • Participate in the review of all customer specifications
  • Periodic meetings with the customer quality personnel (cubing, tolerance reviews and customer complaints) during the development phase
  • Validation of initial gauges and control fixtures specifications
  • Define product acceptance and reject criteria
  • Ensure parts inspection on checking fixtures and deliver inspection reports
  • Manage the development of Prototype, Pre-Launch and Production Control Plans
  • Manage PVP (Product Verification Plan)
  • Ensure all PPAP documents are correct
  • Manage the creation of all sample reports (PSW, ISIR) for all PPAP phases
  • Participation in the approval process for full production validation
  • Define cycle times and facility requirements
  • Generate layout
  • Support the Project Manager with MAKE or BUY analysis
  • Identify and provide costs for required tooling, equipment and facility investment
  • Conduct technology trials
  • Manage process FMEA and process simulations (MTM, T-SIM)
  • Manage requests for purchase
  • Generate Materials and process flow-chart / layout
  • Plan the process industrialisation
  • Support the plant Launch Manager
  • Lead process acceptance Gateway reviews
  • Ideally you will be educated to Degree level, though equivalent relevant experience is readily considered
  • It is essential that you have quality assurance experience 
  • Ideally, you will have gained your experience from within the automotive sector, but other manufacturing sectors are also considered
  • There is a high degree of traveling involved in Europe with this role, as much as 50%
  • Good knowledge of Quality standards, such as VDA, TS16949 and QS9000
  • Sound knowledge of automotive quality methods and tools (PPAP’s, DFEMA, PFMEA, 5Y, 5S, 8D and SPC)
  • Flexible to travel UK
  • Superb communication skills
