The Maintenance Electrician position is commutable from the following locations: Rochdale / Oldham / Wigan / Blackburn / Bury 

The Maintenance Electrician will be required to work the following shift:  Days: 8am till 4:30pm Monday to Friday

Maintenance Electrician Duties: 

  • Strong fault- finding abilities with Allen Bradley & Siemens S7 PLC’s 
  • Experience with: Motors and Drives / Inverters / Single and 3 Phase systems. 
  • Confident with both Hydraulics & Pneumatics / Bearings / Fluid systems / Steam systems / Press Machinery / Conveyor systems  
  • Experienced with Motor testing. 
  • We are ideally looking for the individual to hold a 60/40 Split – electrically biased. 
  • Welding and machining experience would be at an advantage. 
  • Previous experience within a Textiles / Manufacturing environment. 

Maintenance Electrician Requirements:

  • We are looking for an Apprentice trained engineer. 
  • Holding a ONC / City & Guilds Level 3 in electrical engineering 
  • Also holding their 18th IEE Wiring regulations. 
  • Flexibility is key as there will also be a call out Rota in place – rotating Weekly.

Key Responsibilities the Maintenance Manager:  

To ensure that all activities associated with the Maintenance team are carried out in compliance to legislation and company standards for Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality.  Liaise with departments to support the effective running of production.

To ensure the effectiveness of the Maintenance Department and team, contribute to decision-making process to achieve higher standards in associated field of activities.  Act as an advocate for improvement and change across all engineering functions at all levels.

To promote a positive environment which engineering is seen by management, employees, neighbours, customers, and other off-site agencies as being fundamental to the company’s day to day operations.  Ensure policies, programmes, systems, procedures, and registrations are developed and maintained to meet company and regulatory requirements.

Day to Day Requirements: 

  • Support the effective running of production.
  • Attend Management meetings as and when required.
  • Regular review of production schedule with Planning Manager to identify planned maintenance opportunities.
  • Ensure the Maintenance Management Software is updated and utilised effectively and in the absence of the Engineering Coordinator is resourced efficiently.
  • Manage calibration, testing schedules and associated record keeping.
  • Manage all engineering regulatory inspection schedules and associated documentation for compliance to the standards required and associated record keeping.
  • Regular review of production schedule with Planning Manager to identify planned maintenance opportunities.
  • Ideally, we are looking for a Multi-Skilled Split. Electrical and Mechanical Knowledge. 
  • Holding a Formal qualification in Engineering – Level 3 
  • Previous experience within a management role. 
  • Previous experience within a Chemical Plant or Heavy engineering.

  • Carryout maintenance tasks in accordance with all company policies. 
  • Root cause fixes. 
  • Problem solve and challenge. 

As a Maintenance Engineer Requirements include: 

  • Apprentice trained ideally to HNC Level 4 (Mechanical or Electrical). 
  • Must be multi-skilled. 
  • 18th Edition (Desirable). 
  • CMMS experience. 
  • Experience using PLCs (Preferably Siemens S7). 
  • Experience with Fanuc and ABB Robots (Advantageous). 
  • Strong fault-finding capabilities. 
  • FMCG experience. 
  • Ability to read engineering drawings. 
  • Good IT skills.
